Rocket Launches from Cape with New Satellite

An Atlas 5 rocket lifted off into a clear sky early this morning after several weather delays. The rocket took off just before 2 a.m. Monday carrying a new a satellite into orbit. The Intelsat-14 satellite is expected to provide high-powered video and internet data to customers in the Americas, Europe and Africa. The scheduled November 14th launch was scrubbed due to an electrical glitch and weather delayed a rescheduled launch last week. The Intelsat-14 has an expected 15-year life span.
