Polls Open in Orange County

March 9, 2010 - Voters in six Orange County communities are going to the polls today. An Orlando commissioner is running for re-election and several communities are considering ballot measures.

In Orlando, District 3 Commissioner Robert Stuart defends his seat against a challenge from political newcomer Larry Spade.

Two city commission seats are on the ballot in Winter Park and voters there are also deciding on a slate of charter amendments including one which would require a super majority vote by the city commission to approve any future development.

Residents also are voting on City Council seats in Apopka, Maitland and Ocoee. Edgewood voters will decide 14 charter amendments.
