Jail Guard Charged with Helping Escapee

Osceola County authorities have arrested a corrections officer for helping with the escape of an inmate at the Osceola County Jail. The Sheriff's Office says 28 year old Milton Caraballo Jr. was promised a large sum of money to help alleged gang leader Michael Rigby escape on Feb. 19th.

Officials say Caraballo gave Rigby a metal clip which he used to remove a toilet from his cell wall. Rigby is still at large, and investigators think he has fled the state.
Caraballo is being held at the Polk County Jail.
There have been two escapes at the Osceola Jail within a month. Earlier this week, Carlos Alberto Rosa, who was being held on burglary charges, climbed to the top of a building and jumped to the ground outside the jail’s fences. Rosa was caught within a few hours of his escape.
Osceola County Commissioners now say they will spend $4 million dollars to beef up security at the facility on Simpson Road in Kissimmee. The commission ordered temporary guard towers be erected along the perimeter of the jail grounds until new, permanent towers can be built. The Sheriff’s Office will patrol the outside of the jail during overnight hours.
