Sen. Haridopolos says Obama Broke Space Program Promises.

04/16/2010 - President Barrack Obama delivered a major speech on space policy Thursday at the Kennedy Space Center. The president laid out his proposals for the future of the space program. He said he wants to send astronauts to Mars by the 2030s and have a vehicle capable of taking humans into deep space within 15 years.

President Obama also said his proposals will bring 2500 new jobs to the Space Coast and he announced a $40 million dollar initiative to help the thousands of workers expected to be laid off when the space shuttle program ends later this year.
90.7’s Tom Parkinson spoke with State Sen. Mike Haridopolos, whose district includes much of the Space Coast. Haridopolos says when Obama visited Brevard County as a presidential candidate in 2008, he promised to help bridge the gap between the end of the shuttle and the beginning of the Constellation program. Now, Haridopolis says, President Obama has broken that promise.
