Candidates Spend Monday Laboring for Votes

September 6, 2010 | WMFE - Several of the candidates for statewide office campaigned in Central Florida Monday.

The politicians spent Labor Day shaking hands with union members and touting their proposals to spur job creation.

Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson appeared at an AFL-CIO rally and picnic in downtown Orlando. He was joined at the rally by Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Kendrick Meek and several other candidates.

About 500 people were in attendance.

Two other Democratic candidates, Alex Sink, who is running for governor and Democratic candidate for state attorney general Dan Gelber, appeared at a Labor Day rally in South Daytona.
