US Senate Committee to Discuss NASA

December 01, 2010 | The 2010 US Senate Commerce Committee is expected to talk about NASA's future today. On the agenda is discussion on a new law passed seven weeks ago that created a compromise on the type of next generation rocket that is expected to replace the Space Shuttle after it retires sometime next year. But as time runs out on the lame duck session of Congress, space advocates worry too much haggling over the rocket's design could make it harder to argue for NASA to receive up to 19 billion dollars in funding that was requested by the Obama administration.
