Intersection | Best of 2010 Program

December 28, 2010 | Intersection looks back at the most timely and interesting conversations of the past year. 2010 started with the massive earthquake in Haiti, local Haitian radio station, Radio Universal director Jacques Adelson talks about reaction from the Haitian community in Central Florida. Remember that crazy Florida election season that stretched across most of the year? State cabinet offices shifted, and a game of political musical chairs took place, much of that shuffling can be traced back former US Senator Mel Martinez's resignation in 2009. We listen back to a conversation with Martinez about why he left elected office. We also listen back to a conversation with Southeastern University student Brian Seely about why he decided to move into a homeless camp in Lakeland for part of his senior year. The Islamic Society of Central Florida's Imam, Muhammad Musri helped lead negotiations to stop Gainesville pastor Terry Jones from burning the Koran on the ninth anniversary of the September 11th attacks. We listen back to Musri's account of what went on in the discussions. The 2010 best of program is closed out by violinist and composer Robert Kerr who composed the "Legendary Florida" Symphony.
