Hank Fishkind January 4th - Governor Scott's Job Creation Plans

January 4, 2011 | WMFE - Florida's new governor has been sworn in. The state's 45th governor, Republican Rick Scott, is a former health care executive who says he will use his business experience to turn the state's economy around. Over the next two weeks, 90.7 economic analyst Hank Fishkind will be helping us examine some of the new governor's economic policies. Next week, we'll look at his proposals to consolidate, privatize or eliminate many state departments and what economic impact that may have. Today, we'll take a closer look at the new governor's job-creation plan. One of Scott's boldest promises is that he will create 700,000 new jobs in 7 years. 90.7's Tom Parkinson asked Dr. Fishkind if that number iincludes or is in addition to the number of jobs expected to be created by the economic recovery anyway.
