January 18, 2011 | WMFE - Orange County recently elected a new mayor and 2 new commissioners. Several other Central Florida counties also have new leaders. Many of the new county officials have ambitious plans but whether those visions become reality depends, in large part, on how much the money the counties have to spend. 90.7's Tom Parkinson spoke with economic analyst Hank Fishkind about the financial prospects for the region's counties. He says the continuing foreclosure crisis means depressed property tax revenues and that spells trouble for county budgets.
