Hank Fishkind March 22 Proposed Deregulation Overreaches

March 22, 2011 | WMFE - Last week, a committee in the Florida House of Representatives passed a sweeping package aimed at eliminating state oversight of more than 30 different industries and professions. Auto mechanics, hair stylists, time share condo sales and telemarketers are just a few. The state's new Republican governor, Rick Scott and the leaders of the legislature have made deregulation of industry a top priority. Gov. Scott says over-regulation is one of the factors driving industry away from Florida and suppressing job growth. 90.7's Tom Parkinson asked economic analyst Hank Fishkind to comment on this historic push toward deregulation

The two proposed committee bills (PCBs) that aim to deregulate business in the State of Florida passed the House Business & Consumer Affairs Subcommittee on Tuesday March 15, 2011.

The bills are designated PCB BCAS 11-01 and PCB BCAS 11-02.

24. Professional Geology

25. Professional Surveyors and Mappers

26. Rooming Houses

27. Sellers of Travel

28. Specialty Salons (Manicurists, Pedicurists, Nail Extensions)
