Hank Fishkind June 28 - SunRail Would Stimulate Economic Development

June 28, 2011 | WMFE - The state's top transportation official is touring central Florida today talking with local leaders about the proposed SunRail commuter line. Transportation Secretary Ananth Prasad will report his findings to Governor Rick Scott. The governor is expected to announce whether he'll support the project later this week.

It’s been widely reported that the rail line would cost $2 million dollars a year to operate. But WMFE has obtained figures from the Florida Department of Transportation showing the cost could be closer to $7.5 million dollars.
