Busch Gardens Announces New Event for High School Seniors

July 13, 2011 | WMFE - There's another theme park offering graduating high-school seniors a late-night celebration. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay made the announcement about two months after Walt Disney World ended its "Grad Nite."

Next year, Disney World would have celebrated the 40^th anniversary of “Grad Nite” in Orlando, if it hadn’t ended the event for good after hosting the 2011 graduating class. Instead, 2012 will see Busch Gardens Tampa Bay offering its inaugural “12^th Grade Grad Nite.”

The late-night seniors-only event will be similar to Disney’s – Busch Gardens’ rides will stay open and the park will feature live entertainment. Busch Gardens joins Universal Orlando’s “Grad Bash” in offering celebrations to graduating seniors.

Disney World is replacing its “Grad Nite” with a specially-priced ticket good during the park’s regular business hours.

“Grad Nite” will continue at Disneyland in California.
