Atlantis Committed to Land at KSC

July 21, 2011 | WMFE - Shuttle Atlantis has completed its de-orbit burn and is committed to land at 5:56am at Kennedy Space Center. It will be the final landing of NASA's Space Shuttle program.

Atlantis is expected to cross over the western coast of Florida around Naples.  Sonic booms will be heard a few minutes before landing in the Kennedy Space Center area.  NASA says the weather at KSC is "pristine" for the landing.   Preparations are underway to greet Commander Chris Ferguson and his crew when they return.

90.7 will have live coverage of the landing at 5:56am, with continuing reports during Morning Edition.
