While the U.S. House and Senate were debating a debt ceiling deal this week, Winter Park Republican Congressman Mica was fighting a different battle ... over funding for the Federal Aviation Administration.

As we've been reporting over the past several days, Congress has been unable to agree on a bill to re-authorize the agency.  The sticking points have to do with service to rural airports and the unionization of airline employees.

Orlando Sentinel Columnist - and new 90.7 contributor  Mike's Thomas tackled the issue in his column today.  Then, he sat down to talk about it with 90.7's Mark Simpson.
