Downgrade Unlikely for Florida State and Local Govts Says Economist Fishkind August 9, 2011 | WMFE - Economic Analyst Hank Fishkind tells 90.7's Judith Smelser he doesn't expect Standard & Poor's downgrade of the U.S. credit rating to have much impact on Florida's credit rating or on local governments' ability to pay their bills. He also expects the U.S. debt ceiling deal to allow several stalled real estate development projects to move forward in Florida.
