Protests are being staged in Jacksonville, Orlando, St Augustine and Texas on Thursday.

Friday the AFA is heading to Congressman Mica’s Maitland office to submit their concerns, which include getting a permanent funding measure passed before the temporary one expires on September 16th

Mica chairs the US house transportation committee and has been at the center of the funding debate.

AFA Government relations director Steven Schembs says the temporary funding measure brings uncertainty for all sorts of FAA related employees, "Contractors are reluctant to bid on these projects if you don’t have long term funding so you don’t know how long you’re going to be able to bid on these projects without having them shutdown."

Congressman Mica did not return calls for comment before deadline
