August 23, 2011 | WMFE - Seminole County students went back to school last week but the county school board chair is already concerned about the district's fiscal outlook for next year.

Speaking at the Tiger Bay Political club in Orlando Dede Schaffner says  Seminole schools will have  to find a way to cut more than 20 million dollars, "We know that we’re going to be 22 million dollars short for the 2012-13 school year. and we don’t know where we’re going to get it from because we’ve already had to cut 83 million to this point already.”

Schaffner says that money has been eliminated from the Seminole Schools’ budget over the last 3 years.

Additional money saving options could include closing schools, cutting back arts, music, and sports, or perhaps combining bus stops.
