Intersection Segment | The Everglades' Central Florida Headwaters


Oct. 5, 2011| The northern-most part of the Everglades ecosystem starts with the Kissimmee River as it meanders through remote cattle ranches and protected Central Florida lands. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service wants to preserve these lands as part of a new wildlife refuge and conservation area. This week on Intersection 90.7's Mark Simpson talked about the project with Keith Fountain, Central Florida's director of land protection for the Nature Conservancy. Charlie Pelizza of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service began the conversation by describing where the project area is located.
