Economist: New Casinos Could be a Boon for Entire State Oct. 11, 2011 | WMFE - A Circuit Court ruling in Miami late last week could mean that South Florida will soon see full service, Las Vegas style casinos. Two Miami area state lawmakers have introduced bills to create a gaming commission for Florida. That commission would both regulate and promote gambling in the state. 90.7’s Tom Parkinson asked economic analyst Hank Fishkind about the new push for gaming in Florida and whether the court ruling means full-scale casinos could spread throughout the state or be limited only to Miami-Dade and Broward counties. |
