Governor Rolls Out Legislative Priorities in Orlando Oct. 12, 2011 | WMFE - Gov. Rick Scott unveiled part of his legislative agenda at a manufacturing company in Longwood this morning. His goals include reducing business regulations and permits, cutting taxes, and changing Florida's unemployment system. Governor Scott says his top priority will be asking lawmakers to continue eliminating, what he calls, burdensome regulations on businesses. He also wants to shift education in Florida to focus on core subjects such as science, engineering and mathematics. Under Scott's vision, the state’s unemployment system will be transformed into, what he calls, a “Re-employment” system.
