Thomas Jefferson

November 29, 2011 | After serving as the third U.S. President, Thomas Jefferson began work on a project to create his own version of the life of Jesus. Jefferson pulled from 4 languages, literally cutting and pasting the passages of the New Testament he considered vital. Now the Smithsonian has published a full color copy of "Jefferson's Bible", made from hi-def scans of the original. Smithsonian Curator Barbara Clark Smith explains the process. Later in the show panelists Rev. Joel Hunter, Rev. Kathy Schmitz, and Rollins College professor Creston Davis discuss the impact and meaning of Jefferson's work.
