Feb. 15, 2012 | WMFE - The Tuskegee Airmen were the nation's first black military aviators. They defended the country during World War II, when the military and federal government were segregated and Jim Crow laws existed in many states. 90.7's Mark Simpson talked with two Tuskegee Airmen from Florida this week on Intersection. George Hardy began the conversation by explaining why he joined the Tuskegee Airmen, even though he was part white.
