Fishkind Commentaries: President's Budget Boosts Spending in Florida

February 21, 2012 | WMFE - President Obama has proposed a nearly $18 billion dollar budget for the coming fiscal year and it includes a variety of impacts for Florida.

If the plan is approved by Congress, Kennedy Space Center would see about $2.1 billion dollars for its Spaceport project and more than $230 million dollars would be designated for Everglades restoration.
The largest cuts in the president’s proposal are in the defense budget. 90.7’s Tom Parkinson asked economic analyst Hank Fishkind if those cuts would impact Central Florida’s defense industry.
