Dragon Arrives at ISS

May 25, 2012 | WMFE - There was plenty of cheering and "high-fiving" at mission control this morning as the privately owned Dragon space capsule arrived at the International Space Station. The Dragon made history as the first commercial spacecraft to make the trip to the ISS.

The space station crew used a robotic arm to snare the capsule and pull it into the docking station.
The capsule is loaded with a half-ton of supplies for the six crew members currently living aboard the orbiting science lab.
The Dragon was launched atop a Falcon 9 rocket early Tuesday morning from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
The company, SpaceX, is owned by internet billionaire Elon Musk, owner of PayPal. SpaceX executives say they hope to eventually use the same rocket and capsule to ferry astronauts to the ISS.
The Dragon will remain at the space station for nearly a week.
