Criminal Charges Filed in White Supremacist Investigation

State attorney Lawson Lamar has filed criminal charges against 14 alleged members of an Osceola County based white supremacist group.

The charges follow arrests last month of members of the American Front, who authorities claim were preparing for a "race war".

The alleged leader of the group, Marcus Faella, has been charged with directing the activities of a gang and teaching paramilitary training.

Charges laid against the other defendants include conspiracy to shoot at, within or into a building, and participating in paramilitary training.

In a statement, State Attorney Lawson Lamar said he was sending a message that "criminal behavior whose thesis is hate and intolerance will not be allowed to flourish in our neighborhoods."

The arrests last month stemmed from an investigation into the group which authorities classify as a known domestic terrorist organization.

The investigation was led by the FBI and local law enforcement.

One of the 14 defendants has not yet been arrested.
