George Zimmerman's Wife Arrested for Perjury

The wife of the man who admitted shooting Trayvon Martin has been arrested for perjury. Shellie Zimmerman is free on $1,000 bond after being charged with lying to a judge during her husband George Zimmerman's first bond hearing.

Shellie Zimmerman (pictured), 25, was booked into a Sanford jail Tuesday, more than a week after George Zimmerman’s bond was revoked.

A judge agreed with prosecutors that the two purposefully deceived the court during his first bond hearing in April.

Shellie Zimmerman had testified that the couple had limited funds for her husband’s bail since he was unemployed and she was a full-time student. Based in part on that information, George Zimmerman was freed on $150,000 bond.

It was later revealed that Zimmerman had raised about $200,000 in donations from his website before the hearing. Prosecutors say he was speaking to his wife from jail using “code words” to tell her where to hide the money.
