At his first bond hearing in April, George Zimmerman and his wife Shellie testified that the couple was strapped for cash, since she was a full-time student and he was unemployed. Based in part on that information, Zimmerman was granted $150,000 bond and allowed to stay out of jail while he awaited trial.

The court later learned that Zimmerman had raised about $200,000 from online supporters before that hearing, and on June 1st, Zimmerman’s bond was revoked. Less than two weeks later, his wife Shellie was arrested for perjury, after prosecutors claimed she colluded with her husband to hide the money and lied about it in court. She bonded out the same day.

Also since the April bail hearing, new evidence has been released in the case, including a video of George Zimmerman re-enacting the night of the shooting for detectives and audio tapes of his interviews.
