First Lady to Visit Orlando Today


July 10, 2012 | WMFE - As the presidential race heats up, the candidates and their surrogates are spending plenty of time in swing states including Florida. Today, First Lady Michelle Obama is visiting the Sunshine State with a stop planned this afternoon at Orlando's University of Central Florida.

Mrs. Obama is campaigning for her husband’s reelection and encouraging Floridians to register to vote.

She will with meet supporters at a high school in Miami Lakes this morning then head to Orlando, where she is scheduled to address a crowd in the 1,800-seat theater at the UCF Arena.

Florida is considered one of the top battleground states with 29 electoral college votes up for grabs.

Today’s trip is Michelle Obama's first official public campaign visit to Florida this year.
