Entire State Remains in Isaac's Extended Path

August 23, 2012 | WMFE - Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center are still expecting Isaac to start lashing the Florida Keys early Monday morning. By Tuesday morning the consensus storm track shows Isaac moving along the state's west coast off of Tampa.

Early this morning Air Force hurricane hunters described tropical storm Isaac’s center core as poorly defined.

The storm is predicted to move northwest track over the next 12-24 hours.  Forecasters say within the next 36 hours Isaac is expected to become a hurricane.

Atmospheric conditions should allow some intensification before the storm connects with the mountains of Hispaniola.

What is not yet clear is how much strength Isaac will have after passing over Cuba.

The effects of intense tropical weather can extend for many miles away from the storm center.

Local emergency managers are advising Central Florida residents to prepare hurricane emergency kits now and have at least 72 hours worth of supplies on hand.
