In Second Visit to Florida, Paul Ryan Accepts VP Nomination from GOP

August 28, 2012 | WMFE - Representative Paul Ryan will speak Wednesday evening at the Republican National Convention in Tampa. Ryan has arrived in Florida to accept the Republican Party's vice presidential nomination.

Paul Ryan and several members of his family — including his wife, children, brother and mother — landed in Tampa Tuesday afternoon. During the flight from his hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin, Ryan staffers say he worked on the speech he will deliver  Wednesday night.

The Wisconsin congressman is expected to talk about his family's immigrant roots and small-town upbringing. Ryan’s aides say he is still tweaking the speech, but pointed to one he gave Monday at his former high school as a guide.

Running mate Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, arrived in Tampa shortly before Ryan.

Mitt Romney will accept the GOP presidential nomination on Thursday.
