August 31, 2012 | WMFE - Florida Governor Rick Scott was originally scheduled to speak at Republican National Convention but cancelled all of his events to focus on Tropical Storm Isaac. Scott decided to make a surprise appearance on the final night of the convention and tried to do a bit of catching up by visiting delegates from around the country.

Scott did what any good host would do: greet his guests like Tennessee Congressman John Duncan.“Sure good to see you again.” He told the congressman “You have a great state and I follow your stuff all the time. You’re doing great. When you get done with this public service stuff, move to Florida”

When asked why he decided to show up on the convention’s last day, Scott said he wanted to thank the delegates for coming.
“Because we are a big tourism state.” Scott said. “Hopefully everyone had a great experience here enjoying the sunshine. They know we know how to deal with potential hurricanes but I want everyone to come back and spend every last dollar they have right here in Florida”

Scott spent recent days visiting areas hit by the storm before arriving in Tampa to see Mitt Romney accept his party’s nomination for president.
