Oct 16, 2012 | WMFE - A new public opinion poll from the University of North Florida shows Democratic incumbent U.S. Senator Bill Nelson with a 10- point lead over Republican challenger Congressman Connie Mack IV.
According to the UNF survey, Nelson leads Mack by a margin of 50% to 40% among likely voters.
The statewide poll also shows that 46% of likely voters think Governor Rick Scott is doing a good job. That’s up from last December when a 26% job approval rating made Scott the least popular governor in the nation. Among the other findings: 64% of likely voters favor felons getting their voting rights reinstated automatically once they’ve completed their sentence. 35% of those polled think Jeb Bush is the best governor Florida’s had since 1970. UNF political science students polled nearly 800 Florida residents by telephone between October 1st and October 9th.
