Standing in front of a ‘Women for Mitt’ banner in Central Park, Ann Romney talked about Governor Romney’s character and his religious faith, and the economy.

"Like you, we have friends and neighbors that are suffering from this economy," she said.

“We have so many people that are coming up to me at every single event and saying please help, we need your help. Well I can tell you help is on the way.

That message resonated with Barbara Nelen, who owns a massage therapy business in Winter Park.

Nelen says the number one issue for her is the economy.

“It’s not just social issues," says Nelen.

"That seems to be the biggest problem:  a lot of people just want to vote their favorite social issue. But if we don’t have a strong vibrant economy and a strong national defense, the social issues aren’t going to matter.”

A line up of high profile Republican women spoke at the gathering before Ann Romney, including Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs, Senator John McCain’s wife Cindy and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

They also talked about jobs, and the need to get out and vote in a tight presidential race.
