Orange County Voters Head to Polls

November 6, 2012 | WMFE - Rain sprinkles and long waits did not deter voters in central Florida. Elections officials around the region are reporting a steady turnout and no major problems. 90.7s Tom Parkinson spoke with some voters in Orlando.

Some locations around Orange County had long lines but not as long as those seen during the early voting period.

Bob and Rosalea Lotein say they had no problem voting at the Bithlo Park Community Center.

“Good, fast good service…. One hour and 15 minutes…that’s it…long line but quick.”

Romney supporter Paul Van Worter said it took him only an hour to vote at a Lutheran Church in east Orlando because he did his research on the ballot amendments before leaving for the poll.

“I had to go read online to make sure because it wasn’t exactly worded the most clearly…so that way I came in here and I didn’t have to worry about it.”

Obama supporter Katina Henry agreed that it helps to do your homework.

“It’s not an overwhelming process if you take the time to look over the sample ballot and then go in there and vote.”

The polls remain open until 7:00 pm.
