January 29, 2013 | WMFE - Florida U-S Senator Bill Nelson was in Orlando Monday to announce more than $300 million dollars in military contracts coming to Central Florida. Nelson says those contracts bring hundreds of high-paying jobs to the region.

The Orlando branch of the training and technology company Cubic Simulation Systems is set to receive nearly $300 million dollars from the U-S Navy.

The company will produce combat training simulation for the Navy’s new Littoral Combat Ship crews. Officials say the project will create between 150 and 700 jobs.

Cubic Simulation won the contract over competition from more than a dozen other contractors.

An additional $9 million-dollar contract will go to Southeast Aerospace in Melbourne to upgrade training planes for Navy and Marine pilots.
