Orange County Tax Collector Offers Domestic Partnership Stipend to Employees March 28th, 2013 | WMFE- Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph says his office will offer a small stipend that employees with domestic partners can put toward health care. [Image: Scott Randolph] Randolph says the Domestic Partnership Tax Equity Policy will go into effect immediately. He says the federal tax code penalizes same-sex couples when it comes to health care. The stipend will depend on the coverage the employee wants, such as whether the employee wants to add a partner or children, too. It'll range from 350 dollars to 13-hundred dollars annually. The Orange County tax collector employs two-hundred-thirty-two people. The tax collector and the property appraiser in Palm Beach County have a similar policy for employees with domestic partners. |
