Rachel Jeantel, 19, told the court she signed her name as Diamond Eugene in a letter to Martin's mother about the shooting . She told a reporter her name was Didi.

Zimmerman defense attorney Don West also asked Jeantel about inconsistencies in the stories she told investigators and attorneys and her testimony in court about the scuffle between Martin and Zimmerman.

"You don't know that do you?

"No sir.

"You don't know that Trayvon got hit?

"He couldn't...

"You don't know that Trayvon didn't at that moment take his fist and drive it into George Zimmerman's face.

"Please lower your voice.

"Do you?

"No sir.

Jeantel explained some of her inconsistencies. For instance she said she had lied about her age because she wanted to preserve her anonymity.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder. He says he fired in self-defense.
