Investigators Close to Wrapping Up at Tavares Propane Plant July 31, 2013 | WMFE - Investigators expect to wrap up Wednesday at the Tavares propane plant where 53,000 tanks exploded overnight Monday, injuring nine people and rattling residents for miles around. [Photo: Blue Rhino plant in Tavares] Major Brandon Ball of the state Fire Marshal's Office says inspectors have found no evidence a crime was committed. "Our site investigation that has taken place over the past two days, it was pretty extensive. We've got about a four- or five-acre footprint of site that had to be inspected." The explosions ignited a fireball at a Blue Rhino propane plant. Inspectors are interviewing employees from the plant, although some still are not recovered enough to speak. Federal and local authorities are also involved in the investigation. |
