October 8th, 2013 | WMFE - The government has been shut down for a week as lawmakers in Washington continue to negotiate the de-funding of the Affordable Healthcare Act and passing a continuing resolution. Meanwhile the debt ceiling deadline is fast approaching. 90.7's Matthew Peddie speaks with 90.7's political commentators Dick Batchelor and Lou Frey about the shutdown and the outlook of our country in the wake of this crisis. Also, Allie Braswell is the President of the Central Florida Urban League. Later in the program he discusses what the league is doing to promote social equality and talks about his recent bid for state office.
