In Orange County, Eatonville voters will decide on a revised charter, giving the mayor more power.

Altamonte Springs presents the only Seminole County race.  There, Pam Donavan is challenging incumbent Sarah Reece for District III Commissioner.  County Elections Supervisor Michael Ertel says, in such a race, each vote is powerful. “We anticipate a very small turnout, and so the person that helps set the tax rate for your entire city is on the ballot this time,” he says.  “With such a low turnout, everyone’s voice is heard in that much louder a tone.”

Seven cities in Lake County are holding municipal elections today.  Mayoral seats are up for grabs in Mount Dora, Mascotte, Minneola and Mount Verde.  Other local posts are on the ballot in Clermont, Groveland and Lady of the Lake.

Brevard County will hold several races, including a special vote for mayor in Melbourne Beach.
