January 7th, 2014 | WMFE - A group of newspaper and broadcast editors named the the trial of George Zimmerman the Florida story of the year, saying the story addressed complex issues of race and gun control in the state. A week after the not guilty verdict was delivered last July 90.7's Matthew Peddie talked to Dr. Kareem Jordan, Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida about the perceptions of race in George Zimmerman's trial. Matthew Peddie revisit that interview. Also, Orlando City Soccer aims to break ground on their new soccer-only stadium for the cities Major League Soccer franchise this spring. Orange County Commissioner Pete Clark was an outspoken opponent of county funding for the project, but ultimately changed his mind and voted to help move the project forward. 90.7's Amy Kiley speaks with Commissioner Clark about his decision to vote for the stadium and what he expects soccer to bring to Central Florida.
