Orlando Tourist Returning Home After Snow Delays

January 8, 2014 | WMFE--Orlando International Airport is seeing fewer snow cancellations today, but some tourists are just now returning home.

Adults stranded for days might have to catch up at their jobs while some students face make-up homework.

Cassie Shmielewski doesn’t expect to return to school until Friday.  The 15-year-old sophomore says that’s a problem because she attends a dorm school near Milwaukee.  It doesn’t cancel classes due to weather.  “It’s gonna be hard because I’m gonna have to make up three days, which is gonna be a lot of work," she says.  "I play basketball, too, so then I have practices after schools.  So, it’s going to be tough to get it all into my schedule and figure that out.”

Florida students who travelled for the holidays don’t seem to be stranded up north.  Orange County Public Schools reports attendance at normal levels this week.
