It is not too late to get a flu shot.  That’s the message coming out of the Brevard County Health Department- which has one fatality and three people in critical condition due to H1N1- the same strain of flu that caused a nationwide outbreak in 2009. Brevard Department of Health Director Heidar Heshmati says even though the victims are relatively young, there are usually risk factors associated with them.

“For example, if you’re pregnant, it’s risk factor, if you are too overweight, that’s another risk factor, if you have diabetes, that’s another risk factor, ” he says.

The Brevard woman who died was in her 30’s.  One of the current critical patients is in her 30’s and pregnant.
