Intersection Segment | Former Shuttle Countdown Announcer Remembers Challenger Diasaster


January 29, 2013 | Orlando, WMFE - This week marks the twenty-eight-year anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. It was the shuttle program's twenty-fifth mission, but 73-seconds after lift off at the Kennedy Space Center, Challenger broke apart. Hugh Harris, the launch announcer at the Space Center, told 90.7's Matthew Peddie that despite little interest from the news media, engineers did have concerns because of record cold temperatures leading up to the countdown.
