Each year, they highlight up and coming high school writers in their published short-story anthology. 90.7’s Matthew Peddie speaks with Executive Director Julia Young and two short story contributors to this year’s anthology Rose Helsinger and Zach Korbin.


Also, the debate over trauma centers in Florida is heating up going into the state legislative session. Florida allows a limited number of trauma centers - which are equipped to treat people with severe injuries- but the Department of Health is working on a proposed rule that would change the way new centers are allocated. Meanwhile a couple of central Florida hospitals are fighting for approval. To talk more about the issue, 90.7’s Matthew Peddie speaks with Gail Lazenby, a captain with The Villages Public Safety Department and Republican Florida House District 23 Representative Dennis Baxley.
