Healthcare Navigators Stationed at Several City Centers

February 17, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando--Orlando residents who need help signing up for the Affordable Care Act can get some extra assistance over the next few weeks.

Mayor Buddy Dyer was joined at the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance (HOLA) by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius this morning to promote the addition of healthcare navigators at HOLA and other busy sites.

“The navigators will be available to city residents who are interested in getting more information or enrolling in the marketplace," said Dyer, "this is meant to provide our residents with one on one help in a familiar place that’s close to home.”

Navigators are trained to help people get a health insurance coverage plan that fits their needs.

They will be stationed at the Hispanic Office for Local Assistance on Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm. Other locations such as Dover Shores community center, Englewood neighborhood center, Rosemont community center, Northwest community center, and Dr. James R. Smith neighborhood center will have a navigator every Tuesday from 8am to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm.
