Community Service Groups Working Hard To Encourage Healthcare Coverage Sign Up  Healthcare.gov and its government funded navigators have been the stuff of headlines for months, small community service organizations are really the ones on the front lines for health care coverage sign ups. [Arab American Community Center banner illustrating its outreach work.] The Arab American Community Center is tucked away in a non-descript office complex off of I-drive. And yet, PR director Rasha Mubarak says more than 200 families have come through their doors looking for help with healthcare coverage, and they’re not just Arab American families. “So we’ve had Hispanic Latinos, Caucasians all kinds of walks of life in the Central Florida area, come in and have affordable care and walk out with happy faces,” she says. In addition to hosting navigators several days a week, the AACC has done a huge social media push to encourage health care sign ups. |
