March Jobs Numbers Are Out, and Florida May Benefit from Increased Hospitality Numbers

April 4, 2014 | WMFE, Orlando - The latest jobs numbers are out, and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, U.S. employers added 192,000 jobs in March.

Florida added almost 36,000 jobs in the leisure and hospitality industries from February 2013 to February 2014—and that number is expected to hold steady in the coming months.

90.7’s economic analyst Hank Fishkind says the additional national jobs are a good sign for Florida.

"I think we will see stronger numbers toward the end of this year, because the economy is going to be stronger, and there will be less problems with the weather in the early part of this upcoming season," says Fishkind.

Nationwide, 29,000 jobs were added last month in the leisure and hospitality industries.
