The 23rd annual Florida Film Festival begins tonight. It’s a celebration of films, food, and music, featuring 170 independent films over its 10 days.

One of the films picked for this year’s festival is called “Finding Neighbors,” a comedic drama about three sets of Los Angeles neighbors who are searching for true connection. It stars Michael O'Keefe and Catherine Dent.

The story centers around Sam Tucker, a once-successful graphic novelist, skidding into a mid-life crisis amidst a creative slump. An unexpected friendship with a gay neighbor helps him reconnect with his creativity.

Writer/director Ron Judkins is a two-time Oscar winner for Best Sound for his work on “Saving Private Ryan” and “Jurassic Park.” He tells 90.7’s Nicole Creston about his experiences promoting his own film, and his hopes for the Florida Film Festival.

Find more information on the film at the Finding Neighbors website.
