Orange County Detectives Arrest Suspected Publix Robber

April 24th, 2014 | WMFE- Authorities say they've identified the suspects in a spate of armed robberies at Publix supermarkets in Central Florida.

On Wednesday the Orange County Sheriff announced the arrest of 34 year old Cecil Buckner in connection with the March 16^th robbery of a Publix on Sand Lake Road. 

Lt. Parks Duncan told reporters that the investigation also includes the armed robberies of Publix supermarkets in Deland in March and Winter Park in February.

 “We have linked these Publix robberies all together, they are perpetrated by the same individuals we believe," he said.

"We have arrested one today. We have identified the others and identified them as persons of interest, and they are aware they are persons of interest too, so that investigation is still ongoing.” 

In the Sand Lake robbery, authorities say one suspect forced the manager to the store office while another held ten customers and employees at gunpoint.
